Omron NJ Ethernet Key Features Include

  • Maximum Number of Channels & Devices: 
    • Channels - 256
    • Devices per Channel - 1024
    • NOTE: Practical channel/device limits will vary depending on your available system resources
  • Online Automatic Tag Generation directly from controller
  • Supports Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) routing from one Omron NJ device to another. (Details and examples on Device ID formatting for routing are including in the driver help file under Setup)
  • Configurable CIP Connection size up to 1996 bytes for optimized performance

Standard Omron NJ Ethernet Features Include

  • Supports symbolic addressing of basic data types and structures. Supported data types include the following: BOOL, SINT, USINT, INT, UINT, DINT, UDINT, LINT, ULINT, REAL, LREAL, and String
  • Configurable array size up to 3,840 elements
  • Uses standard Ethernet Network Interface Card for TCP/IP Communications
  • Specify a Network Interface Card at the channel level
  • Optimized communications allow each device to have a separate thread/channel of communications when under separate channels (up to 256 channels)

Omron NJ Ethernet Driver Advanced Features Include

  • Online Automatic Tag Generation directly from device
  • Redundancy switching via Media Level Redundancy plug-in
  • Supports read blocking and multi-servicing of writes to arrays to optimize performance when reading and writing to multiple items within an array
  • Supports Client Arrays for referencing contiguous array elements by the client
  • Supports the reading of system variables defined on the controller
  • CIP Routing Support for multi-hop communications through multiple Omron NJ EtherNet/IP capable controllers
    • For local connections, Device ID format is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\1\y where:
      • xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the local device IP Address
      • 1 ports to the backplane
      • x is the CPU Unit Address of the  local controller

  • Performance statistics for fine tuning communications.

The demo is the full product once licensed. Once a client application connects to the  TOP Server, the TOP Server runtime will operate for 2 hours at a time. At the end of the 2 hour demo period, the demo timer must be reset by restarting the TOP Server runtime service.
