TOP Server DDE Client Bridge OPC Driver
Reliable OPC client access to legacy DDE server applications
The TOP Server® DDE Client Driver provides a communication interface to existing DDE server applications with the same level of performance, stability and ease of configuration as any other TOP Server driver.
This driver provides data exchange between OPC UA, OPC DA, SuiteLink and any DDE server application that supports Microsoft standard DDE. Do you have existing software drivers in your facility that use DDE to interface to other applications and you need to connect them to the latest software using the OPC specification to connect to drivers ? If so, this product provides a solution. You can give your existing DDE applications new life by putting this bridge in front of them, saving you the expense and engineering time of replacing them with new applications. Data acquisition is optimized based on upstream client demand while data integrity is ensured using extensive error handling.
NOTE: Special considerations are required when using DDE depending on the operating system where TOP Server is installed. Please select one of the following options that corresponds to your operating system for additional details. Note that it's possible your IT department has disabled DDE.

DDE Client Bridge Advanced Features Include
- DDE Link can be reinitialized via built-in Reintialization tag.
- String array support for XLTable format type
- This driver uses "hot links", where a DDE server passes data to the driver only when the data value has changed. (This provides a significant performance advantage over the alternative request/response loop approach, since each DDE transaction is relatively time consuming.)
- This driver will automatically reconnect when DDE servers are brought back on-line.
- Clients may reside on remote machines and communicate with this driver via OPC or NetDDE. (Note: The current version of this driver cannot access data from DDE servers running on remote machines.)

Get Started Now
The demo is the full product once licensed. Once a client application connects to the TOP Server, the TOP Server runtime will operate for 2 hours at a time. At the end of the 2 hour demo period, the demo timer must be reset by restarting the TOP Server runtime service.
